TGIF Challenge #413 - Product Challenge

This week's TGIF challenge is to use Vellum as an overlay.

For this challenge I decided to use a technique called Double-Stamped Vellum.

This technique gives the illusion of the Vellum being overlaid on a piece of stamped cardstock.

In actual fact, it is just one piece of Vellum stamped on both sides which is then adhered to the white background.

The images are first heat embossed with white embossing powder on the top side of the Vellum which is then flipped over and stamped with coloured ink on the reverse side.

Once the ink had dried, I attached the Vellum to a frame which I die cut from Basic White cardstock using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

To finish, I adhered the rectangle frame to the Thick Basic White card base using  Foam Adhesive Strips.

JAI#645 - No Stamping Challenge

The challenge at Just Add Ink this week is to create a project without using stamps.

I recently had a request to re-create an Octonaut birthday card which I made quite a while ago.

It's been ages since I've done any Punch Art so this week's challenge was a great motivation to get all my long retired (but still always well used) punches out and make the card.

I had no word dies small enough to fit the card, so I created the sentiment on my computer and printed it out using the RGB code for Pacific Point (R0 G117 B181) to match the Stampin' Write Marker I had used on the collars.

I used a multitude of punches and dies to create Captain Barnacles, Kwazii and Peso.

After I had downloaded the Octonaut Logo, I printed it out and then punched/die cut it out for the hats.

Once I had created my characters, I cut a piece of Whale Done Designer Series Paper and layered it onto a piece of Pool Party cardstock.

I then die cut three circles and adhered the piece to the front of my Pool Party card base.
The characters were mounted on Dimensionals and adhered inside the die-cut circles.

JAI#641 - Inspiration Challenge

The challenge at Just Add Ink this week is to use the photo below as inspiration to create a project.

I love creating scenes using ink and blending brushes so I created a beach scene with the two little girls  taking a walk along the beach looking for seashells.

I first stamped the image of the little girls from the Beautiful Moments stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White cardstock. I then masked the images and used my Blending Brushes and ink pads to create the ocean and beach.

For the sky I used Balmy Blue ink, for the distant ocean I used Pacific Point ink and a stamp from High Tide for the waves, for the shallow water I used Coastal Cabana ink and for the sand I used Crumb Cake ink with a stamp from Sending Sunshine for the speckles in the sand. I used Whisper White Pigment ink to create the breaking waves along the beach.

Once I had finished blending, I removed the masking from the stamped image and coloured the little girls using my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. To finish, I stamped some seagulls from thye Beautiful Moments stamp set and the sentiment from the Fabled Friends stamp set.
