Let's Get Inky June Sketch Challenge - First Frost

Let's Get Inky challenges are monthly Facebook-based challenges. Anyone who is on Facebook can join in the fun. The winning project is the one which receives the most 'Likes' when the entry deadline is reached.

The June challenge is a Sketch challenge which means you must interpret the sketch to create a card.

Here is the sketch

 

For my card I used the First Frost stamp set and dies.

My card base is Night Of Navy cardstock 21 x 10.5 cms scored at 14.85 cms. Onto this I layered a piece of Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper 9.25 x 14.85 cms which I adhered to the card base with wet glue.

Next I stamped and die cut various images and arranged these onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock  6 x 14.85 cms which I dry embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder.

I used Night Of Navy, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Old Olive and Soft Seafoam inks.

I adhered some of the images with wet glue and others with Dimensionals to give depth.

I wound a piece of Night Of Navy Twine around the white cardstock twice and tied a bow.

I then attached the panel to the patterned panel with Dimentionals.

The sentiment was stamped with Calypso Coral on a piece of handcut Whisper White cardstock and attached with Mini Dimensionals

What Will You Stamp? Challenge - Love You To Pieces #WWYS223

This week the What Will You Stamp? Challenge features the Love You To Pieces stamp set.

For my card this week I was inspired by the sentiment "Let's get together soon". I decided to create a 'half-finished' puzzle and scatter the remaining puzzle pieces around it.
I used Blueberry Bushel cardstock for my card base and dry embossed the card front with the 'Subtle' embossing folder.
To create my puzzle frame, I took the Puzzle Pieces die and inked it up with Memento ink and stamped it onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I then adhered the frame to a layer of Blueberry Bushel cardstock.

I adhered a piece of Perennial Essence patterned paper to Whisper White cardstock and stamped my sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink followed by Versamark ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I cut the puzzle pieces with my Big Shot die cutting machine.

Once I had cut my puzzle pieces, I adhered several to the puzzle frame and then mounted the frame to my card front using Dimensionals. Lastly I adhered the remaining puzzle pieces to the card front.

CASEing The Catty #CTC232 - Artistic Expressions

So what is CASEing and how does it work?
To CASE means to Copy And Selectively Edit or to Copy And Share Everything!
Papercrafters find inspiration in many places - often when seeing photos with fabulous colour combinations, pictures with interesting layouts, other people's projects and especially in our Stampin'Up! catalogues. These are full of project ideas and samples to kick start our creativity.
It is totally acceptable in papercrafting circles to CASE projects, however the person who designed the project or layout should always be given credit. This can be done by mentioning their name and linking back to the blog or website where you saw the original design.

This week's CASEing the Catty challenge is the first for the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue and covers the Artistic Expressions section. I've used the card at the top right on page 142 as my inspiration.

I love the cards with the camera subject but as I don't have this stamp set, I decided to make my own.
I chose Gorgeous Grape cardstock for my card base and added a layer in the same colour stamped with the Birch background stamp in Highland Heather ink. I mounted the layer to the card base using Dimensionals. To this I added a layer of patterned paper in Highland Heather.

I then constructed my camera using Silver Foil for the casing and Basic Black and Smoky Slate cardstock and Window Sheet for the lens and dials.

The viewfinder on the casing was created with the Envelope Punch Board. The lens was made using circle punches (see the photo below).

For the mode dials I used my bone folder to score lines close together to similate ridges.

The side grip was hand cut.

Once finished, the camera was attached to the card base over the striped ribbon using Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Daisy Lane stamp set.
