There are so many fabulous products in the new Mini Catalogue it was difficult to choose which one to showcase. I decided on the Honey Bee Bundle and made a Diorama card (or Shadow Box card) with it.
I first cut Whisper White cardstock for the front and back pieces of the card 14.85cms x 10.5cms scored at 1.3cms and 2.6 cms on the left and right sides and sponged them using Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Balmy Blue ink.
I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then die cut the bee hive shape in the centre.
I then used the poppy field stamp from the new Painted Poppies stamp set to stamp my background with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the Poppy Parade Dark Blends Marker and the Night Of Navy Light Blends Marker to colour in the flowers. I also stamped the small bee directly onto the background.
For the middle layer I cut a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock 12.3cms x 10.5cms and die cut the bee hive shape in the centre. I then die cut the honeycomb from a scrap of Daffodil Delight cardstock and attached it behind the bee hive cut-out.
I adhered the front middle and back card pieces together using Tombow liquid glue.
Next I stamped 1 large and 2 small bees and cut them using the coordinating dies. I then coloured the body with a Daffodil Delight Dark Blends Marker and the wings with Balmy Blue Light Blends Marker. I added a little sparkle to the wings with the clear Wink Of Stella.
Lastly I attached the bees to my card using Tombow liquid glue.
The card folds flat and fits into a C6 envelope for posting.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my project and have lots of fun creating your own!
Next up is my very talented friend Rachael Lewsley who I'm sure has an inspiring project to show you.
